Welcome to Le Blog — the go-to resource for service-based business owners who want a client experience that actually works. I’m Chloe, a client experience strategist, and today I’m walking you through something I wish someone had told me earlier: there is a right order to rebrand your business. Follow it, and you won’t have to backtrack, redo things, or pay for the same work twice. Ignore it, and… well, I’ve seen it. It’s not pretty.

Chances are, you landed here because you’re somewhere in the middle of a rebrand, or you’re about to start one and already feeling the overwhelm. Either way, same. I’ve been there, and I’ve also watched a lot of clients go through it. The ones who struggled most? They did it out of order. The ones who breezed through? They followed these three steps.
Branding is the essential first step. During this stage, you determine your colors, logos, fonts, and overall feel of your business. Even more importantly, this is the stage where you take a deep dive into who you are as a business owner and who you want to work with! While you can DIY your brand, I highly recommend working with a brand designer who knows how to ask the right questions and help you lean into what makes you unique.
Once you’ve established your brand identity and have a cohesive color palette, fonts, and logos, it’s time for web design. This is when all the work you did during branding starts to pay off. Your website is your digital storefront, where potential clients can get to know you, see what you offer, and ultimately inquire to work with you. The goal is to have a strategic, optimized website that authentically represents who you are, what you do, and who you do it for.
Side note: Copywriting—all the words on your website—is often the most overlooked part of this process. If you’re a strong writer, you can absolutely do it yourself. But if putting yourself into words isn’t your thing, it’s worth hiring a copywriter. Most web designers actually prefer that copy is finalized before they start designing anyway.
This is where I come in! Your CRM (aka, client relationship manager) is a software that manages invoices, contracts, and client communication so everything is streamlined in one place. Most of my clients use Honeybook or Dubsado (though I highlyyy recommend Dubsado; you can learn why in this blog).
Your CRM comes last in the rebrand process because we want to create a seamless experience for your clients, which means that your forms and proposals are based on your web design. In fact, your forms and proposals are essentially mini website pages. The more they look like your website, the smoother and more intentional the onboarding process feels.
When you rebrand in this order, everything just flows. I mean, just consider the alternatives! If branding isn’t completed before web design, you need to redo your design later, which costs time and money. If your web design isn’t finished when you start redesigning your CRM, things will feel mismatched and disjointed. See, darling, there is a method to my madness, and it’s all about eliminating the maddening, frustrating, time-consuming parts of rebranding.
